Dress rehearsal schedule

Below is the dress rehearsal schedule for the week of the show. It is organized by your dancer's class day/time, but also lists the name of their piece so you will know it for the show lineup. We were able to add Wednesday, June 5th to our rehearsal schedule and have scheduled our Wednesday classes on this date in hopes that those dancers are likely available during their normal class times. Adding this day helped us to avoid going too late into the evenings since some school districts are still in session that week.

Our dress rehearsals are held at Dominican High School 120 E. Silver Spring Dr.--across from the dance studio. Please have your dancer sit in the auditorium, dressed in their costume and dance shoes promptly at their call time. We will have a row marked for their class so we can keep them together and take attendance. We will call dancers up by class and walk them from the auditorium, through backstage and to the stage when we are ready to begin their rehearsal. We will release them from the stage back to parents in the audience. If they are in a Creative Dance or Ballet/Tap Combo Class and have another dance to rehearse, they should change shoes/accessories with parents in the audience. If your dancer is in more than one dance with full costume changes, we will have assigned dressing rooms for them to quickly change, then immediately head back to their assigned row in the auditorium.

Dancers do not need to have stage makeup and hair done for dress rehearsal (unless you want to practice!), however they do need their correct costume, tights, shoes and accessories. Costume, makeup and hair sheets are uploaded in your parent portal: https://dancestudio-pro.com/online/freshcoastdance. Click on "Info", then "Costumes." We have uploaded the makeup guidelines our Company Dancers use. Stage makeup is important to reduce facial features being washed out on stage under the lights. However, we understand that makeup might be challenging for some younger dancers (for others, it's their favorite part!), so use the guidelines and adjust accordingly. Wednesday 6:00 p.m. Hip Hop's costumes were delayed (we just got them in today!) so they will try them on next week and we will send them home right away. If your dancer will miss next week's Hip Hop class, please contact me to arrange another time for them to get their costume.

Dancers must be supervised during dress rehearsal in the auditorium. Please do not plan to drop off your child unless they are completely self sufficient. We are running a full rehearsal with lights, sound, props and a million other moving parts and will be extremely busy trying to keep things running smoothly and on time! We will try to stay on schedule, but sometimes may run behind or ahead of schedule. Please be patient as we work to make sure your dancers are confident on stage!

The fun and joy of recital week is what our dancers work hard for all year! The dress rehearsal is very important for dancers to familiarize themselves with the stage and backstage area, learn how to enter and exit the stage, and rehearse one final time so they feel confident for the show! Families may sit in the audience and take photos/videos, but please do so quietly so as to not distract dancers on stage. If your dancer is absolutely unable to attend the dress rehearsal, please let me know via email.
